How Ten Toes Paddleboards Are Made

Our inflatable standup paddleboards are nearly indestructible. You’re probably thinking to yourself, “Yeah, sure. How could you tout something inflatable as being indestructible?” Well, friend, the secret lies in its construction.

WHAT ARE YOUR BOARDS MADE OF?

Our boards are made of heavy-duty military-grade PVC plastic fabric, layer sheets, and a base cloth. The top and bottom sections are attached to each other with tens of thousands of extremely durable plastic threads of space yarn. The EVA non-slip soft foam deck pad is installed on the top of your board to ensure your ride is as comfortable as possible.

HOW ARE YOUR BOARDS MADE?

Ten Toes boards are constructed from the inside outward, unlike traditional standup paddleboards, which are made from the outside inward. The interior construction of our boards starts by connecting two pieces of a base cloth together with space yarn via dropstitching. This is a grueling process because it requires tens of thousands of stitches to guarantee reliable structure. The base cloth is covered with a multi-layer protective shell, which is then covered in an outer layer of our stiff Ten Toes military-grade PVC.

WHY DO YOU MAKE YOUR BOARDS THE WAY YOU DO?

Dropstitching our boards allows us to make inflatable boards that are rigid, impenetrable, and reliable. When Ten Toes boards are fully inflated, they are just as strong, stiff, durable, and buoyant as their epoxy competitors. The heavy-duty military-grade PVC creates a virtually indestructible board that maintains its air pressure and the thousands of polyester threads that hold the top and the bottom together ensure that the board keeps the shape we intended.

We take boarding seriously. We couldn’t possibly send you on your way with an inadequate piece of adventure equipment. That would be blasphemous. We take great pride in the design, materials, construction, and performance of our boards so you can confidently ride off into the sunset. Or the sunrise. You do you as long as you’re paddling like you mean it.
